ABOUT

Working together.  Building value.

A practical advisory partner for governance and transitions.

CJN Advisors supports family-owned and founder-led businesses as they align ownership, strengthen governance, and prepare for leadership transitions. We help clients create a clear, transparent decision process to drive the operating rhythm needed to execute priorities through change.

What we help with:

  • Governance design and decision rights (owners, board, management)

  • Owner alignment and facilitation through complex tradeoffs

  • Assessment-led diagnostics to clarify priorities and dynamics, and establish a shared baseline

  • Strategic planning with measurable execution (KPIs, cadence, accountability)

  • Leadership development and succession readiness

  • Financial analysis and transaction readiness (when applicable)

Our approach:  Clarity → Alignment → Execution

Simple, repeatable, and built for real-world family and founder dynamics.

A family enterprise lens:  Especially in family-owned businesses, we work from a foundation of shared values to help clarify roles and participation, recognizing that clarity reduces conflicts, and involvement is a choice.  You can choose to leave the business, but you are still a member of the family.

How we work

Most engagements start with a short discovery call where we listen to your challenges and learn what matters most — your goals, concerns, relationships, and business realities.  When helpful, we can administer an assessment to establish a shared baseline and surface alignment gaps.  Every family-owned, and founder-led business begins from a different place, and there is no need to force a solution before it fits.

We bring an independent, experienced perspective to help owners, boards, and leadership teams navigate the dynamics in play with clarity, discipline, and respect for what has been built. Progress requires the right forum — safe, candid conversations where ideas can be shared without judgment and decision rights are clear, even when outcomes are not unanimous.

The process is the key, is ongoing, and must be revisited over time.  As families grow and/or competitive, industry, or leadership circumstances change, the approach must evolve to remain relevant. There will be periods of progress and challenge; however, building a consistent, repeatable approach leads to stronger alignment, better decisions, and more durable outcomes.

The decisions made today shape the future lived by those who follow. We help stakeholders make thoughtful, informed choices that balance opportunity, responsibility, and legacy recognizing that both action and inaction carry lasting consequences.
